Slow Downs

Transcript Delivery Issues
Transcripts not sent directly from the university or missing degree conferral dates can stall the application.
Incomplete Supervisor Information
Provisional applications are often delayed if the supervisor's Vermont license is not active or their CCC-SLP status is unverified.
Out-of-State Verification Wait Times
Waiting for other state boards to send official license verifications is a primary cause of delay for endorsement applicants.

Questions

What are the continuing education (CE) requirements for renewal?
Licensed SLPs must complete 20 hours of continuing education every two years. Licenses expire on August 31 of even-numbered years.
Does my ASHA CCC-SLP satisfy the CE requirement?
Yes, OPR licensees with an active ASHA CCC-SLP designation at the time of renewal are deemed to have satisfied the CE requirement.
Do I need a separate license to work in Vermont schools?
Yes. You must first hold a clinical license from the OPR and then obtain an Educational Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement from the Agency of Education (AOE).
Are fingerprints required for the OPR clinical license?
No, the OPR does not currently require fingerprints for the clinical SLP license. However, the Agency of Education (AOE) requires a background check and fingerprints for the school endorsement.
