Slow Downs

Missing Fingerprints
Failure to complete the fingerprinting process after receiving the authorization email is the leading cause of application denial or delay.
Unofficial Transcripts
DOPL only accepts transcripts sent directly from the educational institution; student-submitted copies are not accepted.
Premature Application
Submitting an application before passing the NBCOT exam can result in immediate denial.
Incomplete Criminal History
Failure to disclose or provide documentation for past criminal history will stall the background check process.
