Endorsement Steps

  1. Step 1

    Complete Education & Supervised Practice

    Earn a master's degree from an ACEND-accredited program. Complete a minimum of 1,200 hours of board-approved supervised practice through a dietetic internship.

    Pass the CDR Examination

    Successfully pass the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Registration Examination for Dietitians. Verification of current RD status satisfies the state's exam requirement.

  3. Step 3

    Submit the Application via SDBMOE

    Apply online through the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners portal and pay the $70 application fee.

  4. Step 4

    Provide Verification Documents

    Submit a copy of your active CDR registration to verify that you meet the educational, examination, and supervised practice requirements.
