Slow Downs

Incomplete ID Documentation
Failure to provide two forms of government-issued ID or providing IDs that do not match the legal name on the application.
Fingerprinting Errors
Delay in scheduling or completing the fingerprinting process through Fieldprint, or issues with fingerprint clarity.
Missing CDR Verification
Delays often occur when the HLO does not receive direct verification of CDR registration or exam scores.
Payment Issues
The credit card holder must be the applicant or be present; third-party payments without proper authorization can cause delays.

Questions

Is a master's degree required for licensure in Oregon?
As of January 1, 2024, the CDR requires a master's degree for exam eligibility. Oregon follows these national standards for new applicants.
How many continuing education (CE) hours are required?
Licensed dietitians must complete 15 CE hours annually and 1 hour of cultural competency CE every other renewal cycle.
Can I practice while my application is pending?
No. You must have an active Oregon license to use the title 'Licensed Dietitian' or 'L.D.' and to practice dietetics in the state.
How long is an Oregon dietitian license valid?
The license is valid for one year and must be renewed annually before the expiration date to avoid late fees.
