Complete the Board-approved Phase I (initial) training and pass the pharmacist-administered technician exam at your place of employment.

Slow Downs

Missing Supervising Pharmacist Signature
The application requires a signature from the pharmacist manager or supervising pharmacist to verify Phase I training. Incomplete signatures result in the application being returned.
Failure to Include Online Receipt
Since the Board no longer accepts paper checks or money orders, failing to include the printed online payment receipt will stall processing.
Phase II Training Deadline
If Phase II training is not completed within 90 days of permit issuance, the permit is automatically voided and must be returned to the Board.

Questions

Is PTCB or NHA certification required in Oklahoma?
No. National certification is optional and does not replace the requirement for a state-issued technician permit and Board-approved on-the-job training.
Are there continuing education (CE) requirements for technicians?
The Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy does not require CE for the renewal of a pharmacy technician permit.
When does my technician permit expire?
Permits expire annually on the last day of the registrant's birth month.
Can I work while my application is pending?
No. You must have the physical permit or verify your active status on the Board's website before you can perform technician duties.
