What You'll Need
- Pharmaceutical Technician (PT) Application — The official 6-page application form with original signature.

How to Apply

Verify Eligibility ▾Ensure you are at least 18 years old and a high school graduate. You must meet one of the four qualification paths: completion of an ASHP-approved program, 1,500 hours as a Nevada PTT, 1,500 hours of out-of-state experience, or military/federal training.

Complete the Application Form ▾Download and complete the Pharmaceutical Technician (PT) Application. Note that Nevada requires an original signature; digital signatures, faxes, and emails are not accepted.

Obtain Fingerprints ▾Complete a fingerprint card at a local law enforcement agency. You must also complete the Fingerprint Background Waiver Form.

Prepare Payment ▾Prepare the $50 non-refundable application fee. Payment can be made via check, money order, or credit/debit card (using the form included in the application packet). Note that credit card payments incur a 5% processing fee.

Mail Application Packet ▾Mail the original signed application, fingerprint card, waiver form, and fee to the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy office in Reno.

Requirements ▾
Pharmacy Technicians licensed in another state can often apply via endorsement by providing license verification and current certification.

Verify Out-of-State License ▾Ensure your current pharmacy technician license in another state is active and in good standing.

Document Work Experience ▾Provide a signed affidavit from your managing pharmacist verifying at least 1,500 hours of employment as a PT in that state.

Questions
Is PTCB certification required for Nevada licensure?

No, PTCB is not strictly required if you have completed an ASHP-approved program or 1,500 hours of training. However, it can be used to satisfy certain training requirements if your school was not ASHP-approved.
How many CE hours are required for renewal?
