Slow Downs

Background Check Processing
Criminal history reports can take several weeks to process. Applicants should complete fingerprints immediately after submitting their application.
Third-Party Document Delays
Waiting for transcripts, Dean's certificates, or out-of-state license verifications is a primary cause of delay. Request these early.
Fingerprint Rejection
Poor quality prints may be rejected by the LSP or FBI, requiring a re-print and extending the timeline.
Incomplete Jurisprudence Exam
The board cannot issue a license until the online Jurisprudence Exam is passed with a 75% or higher.
