Endorsement Steps

  1. Step 1

    Complete Education & Supervised Practice

    Earn a baccalaureate or higher degree with a major in dietetics, human nutrition, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Complete at least 900 hours of supervised practice through an ACEND-accredited program.

  2. Step 2

    Pass the CDR Examination

    Successfully pass the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) national Registration Examination for Dietitians.

  3. Step 3

    Submit the Online Application

    Create an account on the Georgia Secretary of State's online licensing portal and submit the completed application with the non-refundable $85 fee (includes $10 processing fee).

  4. Step 4

    Provide Supporting Documentation

    Upload official transcripts, a copy of your current CDR registration card or award letter, and your ACEND Verification Statement. If applying by endorsement, include license verification from all other states.

License Types

Licensed Dietitian (LD): The standard credential to practice dietetics in Georgia, regulated by the Board of Examiners of Licensed Dietitians under the Secretary of State.

Provisional Permit: Allows practice under supervision of a Georgia-licensed dietitian for applicants who are eligible to take the CDR exam but have not yet passed it. Valid for one year and may be renewed at Board discretion. Additional $25 fee.
