Endorsement Steps

  1. Step 1

    Earn a Master's Degree in SLP

    Complete a master's or doctoral degree with a major emphasis in speech-language pathology from a CAA-accredited program. Must include at least 300 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (200+ hours in SLP).

  2. Step 2

    Pass the Praxis Examination

    Achieve a passing score on the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology (test code 5331). The current passing score is 162. Proof of passing must be dated within three years of application.

  3. Step 3

    Complete Supervised Professional Employment

    Complete nine months of supervised professional employment experience. If the Praxis has not been passed, a provisional license must be obtained first to begin supervised practice in Florida.

  4. Step 4

    Submit Application via MQA Portal

    Apply online through the Florida MQA Services Portal. Pay the $100 application fee and $80 initial license fee. Submit official transcripts, Praxis scores, and complete electronic fingerprinting/background screening.
