How to Apply
Create a Gateway Profile

Visit the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) website and register for a new account in the Licensure Gateway. This portal is used for all applications and license management.
Submit New Technician Application

Log into your Gateway profile, select 'Applications', and choose 'New Pharmacy Technician Application'. Complete the required fields regarding your personal information and employment.
Pay Application and Background Fees

Submit the $60 application fee and $40 background check fee (plus processing fees) through the Gateway. Payment must be made within 7 days of application submission or the application will be cancelled.
Upload Required Documents

Upload a copy of your driver's license, a recent passport-style photo, and your birth certificate (or U.S. passport) to the document checklist in your Gateway profile within 30 days.
Complete Background Check
